CHAMPIONS TOUR ROOKIE JOHN RIEGGER WINS 2013 BOEING CLASSIC

Playing in only his fifth Champions Tour event, John Riegger won the 2013 Boeing Classic by birdying three of the final four holes, to shoot a 4-under 68 and seal a two stroke victory over John Cook.

It was an amazing finish that seemed to leave Riegger in awe of the way he played this weekend. When asked how he felt about the experience, he simply stated “This is going to go down as the best win of my career, Seattle is going to become like a second home to me."

After being presented with the traditional Boeing Aviator jacket by Tournament Chief Executive Larry Dickenson, Riegger then hoisted his new crystal trophy to officially celebrate his great win. Congratulations on becoming the 2013 Boeing Classic champion, John!

FRED COUPLES TAKES THIRD AT THE 2013 BOEING CLASSIC

Seattle favorite Fred Couples took third place at the 2013 Boeing Classic with a final score of 11-under. Couples shot a low round Sunday with a score of 66 (-6). He recognized, "That was about as good as I could have shot." Loyal fans followed the dynamic trio of Couples, Rocco Mediate, and Kenny Perry around the course all day, and the group gave spectators a great show.

Couples was never out of contention for the Boeing Classic title, posting scores of 69 on Friday, 70 on Saturday and a 66 on Sunday.

Champions Tour rookie John Reigger held onto his second round lead by posting five birdies and only one boogie. Couples was only 5-strokes back from the lead at the end of Saturday's play, and at that time commented, "John Reigger's a guy I've known a long time and he's overdue to do something because he's got a great game and it's not easy."

While Reigger held on to become the champion, Fred Couples still gave fans a great show this weekend, and fans are already looking forward to next year where Fred can try once again for his first win in Seattle.
