Seahawks Rumble at the Ridge Kicks Off the 2011 Boeing Classic!


2011 Seahawks Rumble at the Ridge Celebrities

Today the Seattle Seahawks Ring of Honor inductees, NFL Hall of Famers, plus local and national celebrities came out to TPC Snoqualmie Ridge for the Seahawks Rumble at the Ridge golf tournament.

As the kickoff event for the Boeing Classic, the Rumble brings together friends from the sports and entertainment industries to "tee it up" for charity, as foursomes are matched with a celebrity for a day of golf.

 

August 23:

FREE YOUTH CLINIC FEATURING JERRY PATE

It’s an annual tradition on the Tuesday of Boeing Classic Tournament Week for kids participating in programs such as The First Tee of Greater Seattle, the Nutrition and Fitness for Life Program at Virginia Mason, Encompass and other community groups to have the extraordinary opportunity to learn some of the finer points of golf from a Champions Tour Pro. This year’s participants will have the privilege to join 1976 U.S. Open Winner Jerry Pate on Tuesday, August 23, at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge for an invaluable experience.


August 23:

2ND ANNUAL ADAPTIVE GOLF CLINIC

The Boeing Classic is committed to bringing the game of golf to the Greater Seattle community. For those with physical disabilities that have unfortunately prevented them from enjoying the game, the Virginia Mason Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Dept. will host a clinic to introduce adaptive techniques and adaptive equipment from both therapists and golf pros.


August 24-25:

KOREAN AIR PRO-AM

The Korean Air Pro-Am provides a unique opportunity for corporate partners to enjoy spending a day on the course with some of the biggest names in golf and greatly contributes to the charitable proceeds raised for the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason.

On August 24 and 25, 56 foursomes will play in the two-day event, with every amateur team paired with a Champions Tour player taking part in the weekend competition. The pros and their caddies are true ambassadors of the game and engage with their groups for a dynamic and one-of-a-kind experience.


August 26:

BOEING FLYOVER

 The most unique start to an event on the PGA TOUR, at approximately 11:20 a.m. a Boeing jet will salute fans and players as it circles the course at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge, lines up with the 18th fairway, and flies up and over the clubhouse to signal the beginning of tournament competition on Friday, August 26.


August 26:

KIDS DAY

A new event being introduced this year, Kids Day at the Boeing Classic is the perfect event for the entire family as we kick off Round 1 of competition at the region’s premier golf event at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.

Special events and activities throughout the day on August 26 include the KIDS ZONE, presented by Xbox 360, face painting, team mascots, a putting contest, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and more.


August 26:

GRAPES ON THE GREEN

To help end the first day of Boeing Classic tournament play, The Golf Club at Newcastle will host the second annual Grapes on the Green event on Friday, August 26. Guests will enjoy premier wine tastings from select wineries throughout the world, a multi-course dinner and an elite live auction featuring exclusive travel opportunities and rare wine lots. Proceeds from Grapes on the Green 2011 will raise support and awareness for two worthy local non-profits: the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason and the Opportunity for Success Scholarship Fund.


August 27:

BOEING CLASSIC ROUND TWO

The second round of the Boeing Classic kicks off at 10:15am. Join the fun and watch from the best spectator viewing areas at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.


August 28:

MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY

 The Boeing Classic is honored to recognize the men and women that serve our country with the tournament’s first-ever Military Appreciation Day on Sunday, August 28 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. All active, retired and Reserve military as well as their dependents will receive free admission, plus all fans will enjoy the special events created to honor our country and those who have fought to protect it.
